Workshop: Polymer Clay Jewelry

Workshop Description: Freeform jewelry uses simple sculptural processes in polymer clay to create pins, earrings, bracelets, or necklaces that would make great Christmas gifts. Interesting forms and textures can be created by using simple household tools, stamps, layering, incised and excised designs, beads or stones, and metallic acrylic paints. The jewelry can be formed using only white clay and then painting with acrylic paints or combining the use of these with colored polymer clay.
Materials Provided by Participant: premo sculpey polymer clay (if different colored clay is desired), exacto knife, vinyl gloves, 2 or 3 metallic or regular acrylic paints in desired colors, various size brushes, water container, paper towels, ruler. Optional: stamping tools, scrap lace or textured fabrics, beads or stones, etc.
Materials Provided by Instructor: white sculpey clay, plastic flatware, toaster oven, rolling machine, wax paper, texture plates, template paper, and baking plate
